Local Travel Tips

A few helpful things to know before you book:

Subsidised Catamaran Services

At least once per day, there is typically a government-subsidised fast catamaran service to Hvar town.

These tickets can be significantly cheaper than other fast ferry options, so it’s worth checking different departure times when booking. Prices vary depending on operator and time of day.

Arrive Early in Split

The Split ferry port can be busy, especially in peak season.

Due to ongoing changes and layout updates around the harbour, allow at least 30–45 minutes before departure to find your pier comfortably.

Finding Your Boat

To avoid confusion:

  • Check your ticket for the boat name and pier number
  • Use the ferry operator’s website for live tracking where available (such as Krilo or TP Line services)

If you’re unsure, staff at the port kiosks near the main Jadrolinija building are very helpful and will point you in the right direction.
